Department of Theory and History of Art

The Department of Theory and History of Art provides the theoretical, historical, and critical foundation for the study programmes of the Faculty of Arts at TUKE. Through teaching in art history and theory, it develops students’ ability to understand their own creative practice within broader cultural, social, and historical contexts and supports critical and analytical thinking. The department is also active in research, publishing, and curatorial practice, with a focus on fine arts, architecture, and cultural heritage.
