Climate Camp 2026 Žilina | Meeting of Students from VŠVU, FU TUKE and AU BB
On March 4, students from the Department of Fine Arts and Intermedia at the Faculty of Arts TUKE travelled to Žilina – to the cultural centre Stanica Žilina-Záriečie – to take part in a joint series of lectures and discussions titled Climate Camp.
There they met with fellow students from the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica and the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava (VŠVU), together with lecturers and teachers from several institutions. The programme included lectures by Jakub Hrbáň from the initiative Climate Needs You and Martina Haas from the Institute of High Mountain Biology at the University of Žilina. Students presented their previous work and research in the format of Pecha Kucha presentations. This was followed by a discussion that laid the groundwork for future collaboration on a project connecting art, environmental topics, and consultations with experts.
The outcome of the project will be a joint exhibition at the Považie Gallery of Art in Žilina, scheduled for September 2026.
The Faculty of Arts TUKE was represented at the event by Oto Hudec and Erik Sikora, together with students: Denisa Sabovíková, Terézia Ďurišová, Melánia Pribulová, Alexandra Hoferová, Juraj Hromec, Diana Kozáková.
